I hope somebody can help me.

What might this error mean?

Error set_folder_by_date msg 0 num_from_gdbm 2

I've been trying to set up Hypermail to work on my system and thought
I'd gotten it yesterday. But then, a new month started today on October
1st.

We are running on a Linux (VALinux/Redhat) box with sendmail.
We run about 15 lists that majordomo has been archiving in monthly files
(e.g., construction.0309 in a Unix mailbox format).
I don't seem to have any trouble importing archival mailboxes into a new
hypermail archive through the -m option

I am using a list called construction@mlin.lib.ma.us for testing the
hypermail setup

I have set up a config file construction.hmrc in /mlin/hypermail/
I have added the following alias to my /etc/aliases/file

construction-list: "|/usr/local/bin/hypermail -i -u -d
/mlin/wwwtest/hypermail-archives/construction/ -c
/mlin/hypermail/construction.hmrc"

I have looked very carefully at ownership and permissions and don't see
any problems with the MTA accessing any of the files it needs to.

I am using the folder_by_date method.

The setup seemed to work yesterday, the last day of September. I allowed
it to create the construction folder and September created itself.

However, today, October 1st, I sent another test message.
The mailer sent me an unknown message.

When I tried to emulate the process by piping the mailbox through, I get
the following error:

cat /mlin/www/mailing-list-archives/construction.0310
|/usr/local/bin/hypermail -i -u -d
/mlin/wwwtest/hypermail-archives/constructi
on/ -c /mlin/hypermail/construction.hmrc -p
The "showhr" option has been deprecated. Ignoring it.
Reading old headers...
hypermail: Error set_folder_by_date msg 0 num_from_gdbm 2
Broken pipe

What does this mean?

Any help would be appreciated.

Here is my config file. I am still playing with some of the options

I've checked in some fixes for this.
There were a couple of problems related to confusion over whether the
first message was numbered 0 or 1 that created problems when using
increment = 1, linkquotes = 1 and folder_by_date.
