Could you please help us out with some info on your hypermail installation ?
Please fill in a yes or no answer and reply to this message. I have set
the reply-to to go me instead of the bothering the list. I will tally the
results and post a message to the list in a few days.
1. Are you using the FNV library functions ? __________
We are considering removing the fnv code from the baseline. We are trying
to find out if anyone is using the message-id message numbering scheme in
their hypermail archives.
2. Are you using the cgi/mail program ? __________
Today and for the last few years we have not compiled or installed the
cgi-bin/mail utility. Yet we have kept it in our baseline. What for ?
The mail utility is a security error that needs to be removed from the
baseline completely.
3. Are you using the libcgi library in some other application ? __________
The library libcgi was originally made a part of hypermail to support
the cgi-bin/mail utility. With mail not being used, there is no need
to keep it in the hypermail baseline as it is simple dead weight.
We are trying to decide what to do with it. Is libcgi worth carrying
around as a disjoint part of hypermail or should it too be removed from
the baseline, and become it's own distribution ?
Thanks for helping!
