I tried to duplicate this using a mailbox of nearly 300 megs. I found
a bug that initially looked to me like it might be a function of mailbox
size. I tracked it down to a line ending in "http://" that caused random
behavior - whether it segfaulted or seemed to work right probably depended
arbitrarily on the content of prior messages. I've checked in a fix to
string.c which you can try, but I don't think this is likely to explain
    crashes while writing author.html.
If you still get the problem with the latest version in cvs, my suggestion
is to check your stack size (if you use bash, "ulimit -a" should tell you
this). If it's less than 8 megs, let me know what it is. Also, tell me
how many messages are in the mailbox, or put the mailbox somewhere where
    I can download it.
