Just a personal opinion, but I think it should be setup for at least 6
digits. Wen it rolls then all the files start getting out of
alphabetical order and just overall a little more confusing.
I modified a version of hypermail several years ago to do this and it
worked fine.
OF course changing it would cause a lot of problems for existing
sites. Perhaps it could be a configuration param for when you build it
