This is a reply to a thread from February.
Chris Seidel was having problems with mbox files from Mac Eudora.
I think the problem is that Eudora strips out the attachments and stores
them as mac files. Therefore, the msg that starts out as
Content-Type: multipart/mixed;
boundary="============_-1269647678==_============"
...no longer has the boundary lines and no longer has the encoded parts in
the Eudora mbox. That is, hypermail is expecting a multi-part msg... But,
the parts are no longer in the file being processed.
One can take unix mbox and let Eudora digest it, but it looks to me that
there is a problem going the other way. My personal solution is to keep
mbox in unix for possible uses like processing with hypermail.
Another possibility is to have Eudora "Send Again" or "Redirect" the msgs
to someplace where you have unix and can capture the whole msg, including
attachments.
I've seen mention of a utility program that will convert mbox to and from
other email mailbox formats, including Eudora. Perhaps that program will
clean up the mbox so you can process it with hypermail. Or, just delete
the lines that make hypermail think it's processing a multipart msg.
