Assuming that what Daniel meant to say was
"Let's release 2b30 as version 2.0,"
I'll second the motion. :-)
On the subject of subindexing messages with attachments, it sounds
like a reasonable idea (for v2.1), especially for those who find
themselves in Bob Crispen's sort of situation where "useful" and
"non-useful" breaks down neatly along that line.
Personally, I haven't seen such a neat division. I take the time
to format what I hope are useful messages in plain text, and
receive many messages with (large) attachments that would have
benefited from the sender doing likewise.
Ultimately, there is no substitute for extracting items of
essential value from message streams, reorganizing them and
indexing them for appropriately. This is not a machine task,
in general.
